Yay for Poland

Just a quick note to cheer on Poland
for stopping the EU Software Patent proposal getting slipped in through an Agricultural council meeting. Bill Thompson has a nice article explaining to the layman why href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4104841.stm">they are a bad idea. I'm personally also annoyed that the European directive process isn't democratic or accountable enough that these weird procedures get adopted. No wonder people don't vote in the European parliamentary elections if it doesn't make any difference to the actions of the un-elected commissioners. Grrrr
