I like xkcd, it's a true geeks comic. Today's topic is the LHC at CERN which goes on-line later this year.

Of course the real LHC will be generating data at such a massive rate it may well be some time until we know if the Standard Model gets another proof point. Not that finding the Higgs Boson is the only science that will be done with the LHC, a lot of scientists (and a silly amount of computing power) will be very busy for the next 10 years after it gets turned on.
